A bike would be good, because then she doesn’t have to drive places, and that saves energy!

  1. For starters, get everything that is recycled/recyclable. Like the plates, etc. Use organic food, etc. Wrap the presents in old newspapers/magazines. Also, instead of gifts have people donate to an eco-friendly/conservation group.

    hope this helps(:

  2. Do you have a place to keep a garden, or a friend or family who have a yard? Planting a tree in someone’s honor is a way to celebrate them, and is an amazing thing for a child to come back to year after year. I’m 48, and the tree my father planted is still there, even though our family doesn’t own that house any more.
You can also dedicate and/or plant a tree in a park, or in wild space. Rather than go through the US Forest Service and get a certificate for one of many trees planted somewhere (where, where? and why am I hanging on to this piece of paper about it?) if you can go to your local garden store, or talk to your local city or town park planners, and pick and plant a particular tree, that’s something so much closer to home and Real.
You can always use gorgeous recycled decor, plates, and those corn plastic utensils for the party (and after), and use recycled paper to make decorations, maybe even of trees! You can make paper leaves that people write wishes on and attach to something like a model tree you make…
As she grows, and if there are other older kids helping celebrate, there are all kinds of art projects available for teaching about and celebrating Earth Day.
I celebrate your daughter’s being on the Earth, and you!
